Personal Branding·6 min read·

Your profile is a landing page. Treat it like one.

Nine changes that turn passive views into real conversations.

Most consultant profiles are résumés with a headshot. They describe the person, not the offer. When a warm prospect lands on that page — and they always land there before they book — nothing on it does the work of a landing page. There is no promise, no proof, and no path.

Nine changes, in order

  • Headline: who you help and the outcome you produce. Not your job title.
  • Banner: one line of value. No stock photography. No skyline.
  • Profile photo: shot at eye level, warm, not corporate.
  • About section: opens with a sentence a client would say, not one you would.
  • Featured section: three artefacts — a case, a talk, a signature post.
  • Experience: rewritten as outcomes, not responsibilities.
  • Services: named plainly, in your prospect's language.
  • Recommendations: three, from people whose titles matter to your buyer.
  • Contact call-to-action: one clear next step. Never a menu.
A great profile does not describe you. It reassures the person deciding whether to email you.

Test it the way your buyer will

Open your own profile on mobile, in the LinkedIn app, while distracted. That is the experience. If it does not tell a stranger in ten seconds what you do and who it is for, it is not finished.
